Costs at 1st Solicitors

At 1st Solicitors we understand that legal costs are a considerable expense that you would usually rather not have at all.

At 1st Solicitors we don’t offer cut-price legal advice but we do offer a high standard of client care and the services of experienced specialist solicitors.

With the exception of Conveyancing and Wills and Probate solicitors costs are calculated according to time spent on preparation of letters and documents, advising you or dealing with other people on your behalf or at Court. Almost all solicitors charge their time in 6 minute units. Hourly rates of individual fee earners depend on their qualifications and experience. Ours are available on request and are consistent with other practices in the area. We are happy to provide costs estimates on request.

We accept payment by cash, cheque, debit or credit card and in some circumstances may be able to refer you to an approved credit provider.

Family and Matrimonial

At 1st Solicitors we don’t offer cut-price legal representation but we do offer quality and experience. Our fee earners are experienced Solicitors . We have no unqualified fee earners or trainees.

We are also, to our knowledge, the 1st Solicitors in the Midlands to offer 3 different types of service for Family clients according to their needs, all with the same high standards of Client Care.

Legal Representation

Most clients will want and need legal representation in the traditional sense. We advise you, deal with other parties and conduct proceedings on your behalf.

Advice Only

This is an innovative new service for clients who want to conduct proceedings themselves. We provide advice on a pay as you use basis when you need it.

Fixed Fee Consultation

This is a one off 45 minute advice session for which we make a nominal charge of £50 inclusive of VAT.

In the case of Legal Representation bills our issued monthly and payable within 14 days. In limited circumstances we can offer flexible payment arrangement. We are happy to discuss you particular needs. In the case of Advice Only and Fixed Fee Consultations payment is made at the end of your interview.
